The main theme of the 30th jubilee edition of the festival is fire and light, date: June 25 – July 4, 2021.

In 1988, Janusz Makuch and Krzysztof Gierat decided to remind the Jewish society of Poland’s history and the contribution of Jews
to development our country, its culture and society. It was a successful attempt to restore the memory of Opole Jews and to commemorate those who, living in Poland for centuries, were either murdered during the Holocaust or forced to emigrate in the post-war years. From an intimate event, the JCF has grown into one of the most important cultural events in our city and country, one of the most famous outside of Poland.
