Helena Rubinstein – First Lady of Beauty

In 2022, there are two special anniversaries, the 150th anniversary of the birth and the 120th anniversary of the foundation of the Rubinstein brand. Chaja, later known as Helena Rubinstein, was born on December 25, 1872 in Podgorze near Kraków as the eldest daughter of a small merchant’s family. Leaving Krakow in search of a better fate, Chaja became Helena. Under this name, she founded a cosmetic empire. The exhibition at the Galicia Jewish Museum (till 14.04.2023) allows you to learn about the extraordinary fate of this outstanding Cracovian woman.
